Residential · One Touch Switching

Residential switching, perfected.

Residential One Touch Switching, run by people who have done it since day one. We have run One Touch Switching for UK providers since it launched. If you need to meet your Ofcom switching obligations without building it yourself, we can do that for you.

The basics

What is One Touch Switching?

One Touch Switching (OTS) lets a residential customer switch broadband or voice provider by contacting only the new one. The new provider handles the request, the old provider is told through the TOTSCo hub, and the customer never has to ring to cancel.

Ofcom requires providers of fixed broadband and voice to support it. CSP is a Full Management MAP: we connect you to the hub, onboard you and run the connection for you.

At a glance

  • Who it is for: providers of fixed broadband or voice to residential customers, including resellers that own the customer relationship and send the bill.
  • What CSP does: as a Full Management Managed Access Provider (MAP), CSP connects you to the TOTSCo hub, onboards you and manages the connection.
  • Going live: via the portal, most providers go live in 1 to 3 working days. An API connection takes longer.
  • Track record: 4+ years of live switching and 50+ UK providers.
  • Also need business switching? It is a separate process. See Switching for Business.

What we’ve figured out.

Speed matters

The faster a customer switches, the happier they are. We’ve optimised every step.

Simplicity wins

Complex platforms create mistakes. Upload data. We handle the rest.

Compliance, out of sight

One Touch Switching handled in the background, including the switching emails customers must receive. You don’t have to think about it.

Real-time matching, clear rejections

The hub replies to a match request within seconds and we show you the result straight away. If a switch fails, we tell you why in plain language.

How One Touch Switching works with CSP

One touch. One switch.

One Touch Switching lets your customers switch with a single request from their new provider. We manage the connection to the central One Touch Switching hub, and coordinate with the losing provider automatically.

Gaining providerLosing provider
1Customer requestThe customer asks to switch, through our web plug-in, by phone, by email or any other channel. The gaining provider then sends the match request to the losing provider.

2Match reply and SI letterThe losing provider replies to the match request automatically, within 60 seconds. The SI letter is sent automatically once the data is matched.

3Raise the switch requestThe gaining provider raises a switch request and sets the switch date.

4Customer goes liveThe gaining provider connects the customer to the services and tells the losing provider it can now disconnect them.

5Customer disconnectedThe losing provider receives that message and disconnects the customer.

Common questions

It is the central messaging system that providers use to exchange switching messages. We connect you to it. See our guide to TOTSCo, MAP and SOR.
Not by law, but most smaller providers use one because connecting to the hub directly means building and certifying your own integration. Also having to deal with all the nuances of a complex process such as OTS is very time-consuming, so we have done this for you.
With Technical or Insourced, you contract with TOTSCo yourself and we provide the connection. With Full Management, we also look after your onboarding, fees and any requests or tickets.
Our pricing is tiered by the number of residential customers you serve, so the price fits the size of your business. Get in touch and we’ll send you a quote. TOTSCo’s hub fees are separate.
Via the portal, most providers go live in 1 to 3 working days. An API connection takes longer, because your developers need to build and test it. We’ll give you a realistic date at the demo.
No - upload via portal or connect via API, whichever suits your setup.
We can usually run alongside it or replace it. Tell us what you’re on and we’ll map the transition.
You continue to manage your customers and respond to any gaining provider requests.
